This is a medium-sized home in the east end of Ottawa, in the nearer suburbs (10 in drive to downtown). It has 4 bedrooms and two offices, with a king-sized, queen-sized and two single-sized beds in the bedrooms. There is also a futon in the downstairs family room. Although the house isn't new and isn't very modern (though the basement has been beautifully redone), it has plenty of room (and toys!) for younger kids. We have a large yard with a swing and rope, as well as a kids' park less than 100 metres down the road. There is parking for 2 cars in the driveway.

Surroundings

There are a number of restaurants in the close vicinity, as well as grocery stores about a 10 minute walk away. The aviation museum is close - about 15 minutes by foot or 5 minutes by bike. There are also pleasant walks from our house, including through a historic cemetery and along the Ottawa River. The Governor General's house is about halfway from the house to downtown.
