Via Montebello is a narrow cobblestone street which winds down towards the main square of the village which takes its name from the famous italian poet Josue' Carducci who was born there . Cars are not allowed down this street but there is a convenient and large public parking just 50 yards away. Castagneto Carducci is perched on a hill overlooking the southern east of Tuscany and is less than 4 km from beautiful sandy beaches and the villages of Donoratico and Donoratico Marina. it is also 4 kms away from Bolgheri , a wonderful example of a perfectly preserved medieval, walled in village with one of the best wineries around.
