It's known more for boating and fishing in the nearby bay than for beachgoing, but the lovely Kailua and Lanikai beaches are a 15-minute drive (or 30-minute bus ride) away. Nearest bus stop is a five-minute walk away. Buses are very reasonably priced: $2 will get you all around the island.
