Home exchange in Kyoto
Welcome to the page dedicated to home exchange in Kyoto. Whether you’re looking for a weekend base, a family house for the holidays or an apartment for a long stay, you’ll find the right place among our 1 local listings. Why choose Kyoto for a home exchange? Because the city offers everything today’s travellers want: rich cultural heritage, a lively food scene and welcoming residential neighbourhoods. Staying in a real home rather than a hotel means experiencing the local atmosphere day after day. Seasonality in Kyoto is worth planning for: local hosts mostly free up their homes during school holidays, but also in May-June and September-October — very pleasant times to visit the city with fewer tourist crowds. Once you’re in Kyoto, you’ll enjoy the comfort of a real home: a fully equipped kitchen to cook with local-market produce, space for the kids, and all the everyday essentials. It’s a radically different experience from a hotel stay — and far more restful. Our team actively moderates listings and supports new members through their first exchange in Kyoto. Don’t hesitate to get in touch with any question — we’re based in France and reachable in French.

As mentioned, a centrally located apartment in the heart of Kyoto. Close enough to walk to the main shopping district, whilst being in a peaceful and quiet neighbourhood with plenty of food options late into the night. The apartment is well kept and cosy! I have stayed in bigger apartments in HK that feel more cramped! Narita is extremely helpful with their tips/post-its, and it was a pity i did not get to meet her. I would definitely stay with them again the next time I return to Kyoto. Thanks for the awesome experience guys!
