Homeforswap is a French peer-to-peer home-exchange platform, created to let everyone travel differently — with no accommodation fees, by living with locals, anywhere in the world.
Our story
Homeforswap was born from a simple conviction: another kind of tourism is possible — more human, more affordable, more respectful of the environment. At a time when short-term rentals are industrialising, we believe in the value of peer-to-peer exchanges, built on trust rather than transactions.
Since its inception, the platform has supported thousands of exchanges in France, Europe and far beyond. Today it brings together more than 13,000 members in 66 countries.

Our ecological commitment
Home exchange is one of the lowest-emission, lowest-resource forms of travel. We build nothing, over-consume nothing, over-employ no-one. We simply activate an already-existing housing stock during periods of vacancy.
We also encourage train travel and long stays (which spread the transport footprint over several weeks). Each member is free to indicate in their listing the recommended transport modes and eco-friendly habits they practise.

A small French team, based in France, runs the platform daily: development, moderation, support, community. We are reachable and intend to stay that way.
